Fire Prevention, Public Education, & Fire Safety Inspections

 

NDFD is responsible for minimizing the possibility of fires by promoting fire safety wherever possible.

To promote fire safety, NDFD educates residence hall staff, student groups and employees in such topics as fire prevention, fire extinguisher training and fire code compliance. NDFD also participates in public education activities throughout the year with students, staff and local schoolchildren.To do so, we perform annual fire code and OSHA safety inspections in over 8,000,000 square feet of campus structures. We also perform design review for building and remodeling projects and advise campus user groups on fire code compliance and general safety issues.
