Health and Safety Courses

Our health and safety instructors are professionally trained through the American Red Cross and offer a variety of courses on campus throughout the year. 

Types of Courses
Adult CPR/AED/First Aid
- The Adult CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Our first aid classes can help you recognize the signs that someone needs help and administer the right type of care. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate valid for two years.

Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid - The Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Our first aid classes can help you recognize the signs that someone needs help and administer the right type of care. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate valid for two years.

We offer courses in the Blended Learning format - Featuring award-winning simulation learning, our blended learning programs combine self-paced, interactive instruction, and in-person skills sessions. Blended Learning courses allow you to learn on your schedule, then demonstrate your skills to a certified instructor.

We will work to set up your preferred date and time, based on instructor availability, for the course. The cost for an instructor(s) is the same cost as one participant cost based on type of class offered. The ratio is 1 instructor to 10 participants. 


Healthcare Professionals

For our healthcare professionals, we offer training from the American Heart Association.

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals to meet a variety of certification and licensing requirements. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate valid for two years.

Upcoming BLS Courses

For our first aid volunteers, your course fees will be covered for volunteering at a minimum of 3 events over the 2019-2020 academic year. If you are taking this course on your own or for your department, the course is $60 per participant.
